• Birds’ songs are associated with courtship and mating.
• Humans’ tunes and pitches are associated with marketing, propaganda, and (dis) information.
• For both groups, calls tend to serve such functions as alarms (news alerts) or keeping members of a flock in contact (keeping demonstrators in contact).
